Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) Visa

WHO CAN APPLY?

The Prospective Marriage visa is most commonly known as the finance visa. It is a visa designed for persons wishing to come to Australia to marry their sponsor. The sponsor must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible NZ citizen. 

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS OVERVIEW:

An applicant for a Prospective Marriage visa must 

  • have personally know or met their Australian sponsor
  • be committed and engaged to marry their Australian sponsor 
  • be sponsored 
  • marry their Australian sponsor in Australia within prescribed time frames 
  • intend to live together in a genuine spousal marriage arrangement 
  • apply for the Partner visa (820/801) in Australian within the prescibed visa period.
